'farts - We have gone and beaten sides in games that Allardyce use to shamefully right off. That's a HUGE difference. We lost at home to Bournemouth and Leicester as Bilic hadn't worked out how to play at home at that point, and that is still a work in progress, ableit it is improving. I know if's and but's are pointless but we should easily be on 25 points now, losing at home to Bournemouth was ridiculous.

So you think injuries to our best players means we might not be as good?

Fuck me, you ever thought of getting into coaching?

You mean if our best players are out we might not be as good?

Who'd have thought?

Why do you keep mentioning Allardyce? He's busy today looking back at his team getting torn apart at home this weekend if you're that bothered.

Bilic is 12 league games into his career here FFS.

You're off your head fella. I can't imagine anyone taking you seriously if this is what you're like in real conversations about football.

Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed the 1st half of this season but I've got a feeling that a lay off for Payet or Lanzini and we are going to struggle big time.

Re: West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I'm concerned Macca because apparently Allardyce was the death of this club etc etc......yet apart from playing it on the floor from keeper to defenders I have not seen a massive improvement from this time last season.

Bilic has had time now to put his stamp on the team and like I said apart from the flair and skill from 2 new world class players I don't see us dominating games we should be dominating.

'In fact I have been pretty underwhelmed by the movement of the team in games'

That's because you can't appreciate the movement of players fully if you're not at the games.

We were very good on Saturday, they are a good side, but they done a number on the games outstanding player, and they had a much better striker up top. Swap the strikers, we would've won 3-0

'farts - Agree to an extent, I think we could be doing better when you look at the amount of individual mistakes that have cost us, but we are 5th and have beaten top sides along the way and scored a lot of goals, but yes we should be on more points in truth.

Remember though that Bilic is still learning, give him more time to find his feet and another summer in the transfer market and we could be looking very strong. No game is easy though so I don't really expect us to be playing sides off the park, we aint Bayern Munich.

Ok Fordy, it's a valid point. Only more time will tell.

We did fall apart massively 2nd half of last season due to injury for the most part but also a lack of imagination and deviation by the manager.

We have to wait and see I guess.

Re: West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I've enjoyed winning games this season and I've enjoyed Lanzini & Payet.

But ill be honest I didn't enjoy Saturdays game or outcome.

The game was flat and dull and the result was dissapointing.

Re: West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Why are you so concerned about last season? What's the relevance? What's the point you're so desperately trying to make here?

Also, if you can't see the difference in the football, you might need to find another sport to follow.

Re: West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
MPI I've seen most of the games this season and whilst our style has changed slightly, its no where near as different from the 1st half of last season as people think.

We played some good football 1st half of last season.

"Going to be really interesting how Bilic deals with injuries to the team and who he plays."

Now that would have sparked decent debate but you had to come in with something sardonic and inciteful instead of thoughtful and insightful.

Sums you up really doesn't it Fartstar?

Fordy

Do you get any enjoyment out of watching west ham? This has been a marvellous season so far by any standards but you seem to have got nothing out of it, in fact it seems to have annoyed you that we have been good.

PD

I think it's great the air of optimism around the club at the moment but to be honest I have not seen us play teams off the park yet.

In fact I have been pretty underwhelmed by the movement of the team in games.

We have 2 world class players that are making the difference at the moment. But that's all I've seen.

Re: West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Star,

Allardyce lost EVERYONE with a very, very indifferent (Fucking awful run of games from January onwards and lack of points which, when married up to his stat driven, percentage dull brand of football was the straw that broke the camels back.

I haven't been going so can only draw conclusions from the testimony of others on here but I can see that our points total is healthy and i am reading that people are being entertained.

Time will tell but even if we have 2nd half season points drought like last year, if the entertainment, flair and effort are still there I reckon you will be in a very small minority.

Going to be really interesting how Bilic deals with injuries to the team and who he plays.

Similar time to last season I think when we started getting injuries and Carroll come back.

No doubt Bilic won't get the grief Allardyce got when it went pear shaped........you know with him being an ex west ham player.......well for a player for us for a short while.....before he moved to a bigger team like EVERTON.

Re: West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
TBF we had a good season up until xmas last year, no matter who was in charge. even if we'd have matched that we'd still be having a good start under Bilic.

still, some fans just can't wait for a few bad results so they can pull out an old thread and give it some 'i told you so' action.
